I’m Amber Washington, founder of Agency Five20.
For more than 15 years, I worked inside nonprofits, public agencies, and corporations, advising leaders and shaping communication strategies that kept teams informed, connected, and supported. Then my role was eliminated.
But instead of fear, I felt certainty: it was time to lead myself forward with the same confidence I'd helped others build.
That moment taught me what I now bring to my work. The gap between vision and action isn't about having more time or a perfect plan. It's about clarity on what you want, alignment around what matters, and a realistic strategy you can execute.
Today, I consult with founders of startups and nonprofits who need to unlock internal alignment and build communication systems that move their organizations forward. And I coach professional women ready to pursue the dream they've been putting off.

Agency Five20 was born from a personal turning point. A couple of months before my birthday May 20, I learned that my corporate role was ending. What surprised me wasn't fear, but clarity. It was time to take agency over my future and pursue the dream I'd been delaying. The name honors that date, a marker of both my birth and a new beginning, and symbolizes a business rooted in growth and possibility.
